Let it snow?

February 10, 2007 00:02 – 00:02

Monday: A chance of snow after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 39. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Monday Night: Snow likely, mainly after 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 27. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

Tuesday: Snow likely. Cloudy, with a high near 29. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

Tuesday Night: A chance of snow. Cloudy, with a low around 22. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

If it pans out, this will be our “big snow” for 2007. The potential is there for 18 to 24 inches. I guess we’ll see. Will it look like this by Wednesday? Who knows? Upstate NY got about 100 inches over the past five days. That’s not in the cards for us—no lake effect snow, here—but a couple of feet aren’t completely out of the question. If the forecast is correct, we should be getting some “ocean effect” snow by Tuesday afternoon.

Of course, I’m just dreaming. Our usual pattern is for an all snow forecast four days out. Then, sometime over the weekend, the dreaded “r” word will creep in. Then, it’ll be “changing to freezing rain” so that it compacts the snow down to about 2″ of ice. <sigh> But, I can dream, can’t I?
