December 31, 2008 Six Mile Cypress Sough Preserve

January 1, 2009 23:08 – 23:08

Yesterday, Karen woke up with a stomach virus of some kind, and begged off of most of the day’s activities. So, Katie & I decided to hit a couple of parks. First, we went to Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve. All told, it’s about two miles of boardwalk that traverses cypress woods that is inhabited by bears, snakes, alligators, raccoons, bobcats, otters, and a zillion other creatures. We saw a snake and turtles and a lot of birds, but no bears, alligators, or any of the others. Here’s a sampling of what the park looked like.
