From Lebanon to Fort Wayne

March 22, 2013 22:47 – 22:47

I’m at the Comfort Suites on Dupont north of Fort Wayne, Indiana. The internet speed here is pretty good—between 5 and 10 M. Last night’s, at the Comfort Suites on Murfreesboro Road in Lebanon, TN—was a similar speed.

On the way up, I stopped at Mammoth Cave National Park. Unfortunately, the self-guided tour wasn’t happening this time of year. I was able to walk down to the historical entrance, which looks like this. I descended into the cave for about 200 meters before reaching the guided tour point. I didn’t want to invest 90 minutes, though. I’ll have to come back when I’ve budgeted more time.

In route, I also stopped at the National Corvette Museum. You didn’t know there was a National Corvette Museum? Neither did I. I stopped only long enough to take some pictures of the only thing of interest…. The building itself.

There’s a little bit of snow left in parking lots here. I expect to see quite a bit more tomorrow when I continue my journey north—to Michigan. I’m planning to go to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Seashore, a little southwest of Traverse City.
