From Scarborough to Hingham (Rockland)

June 8, 2014 16:15 – 16:15

I’m at the Comfort Inn in Rockland, Mass. I think I’ve stayed here before, but that would’ve been 15-20 years ago, or longer. The internet speed here is par for Comfort Inn.

Today has been a mostly lazy driving day. It’s only about 2 hours from where I was last night. I decided to stay on the south side of Boston to facilitate my escape tomorrow morning. I also have a feeling that getting to and from Lucy Stone tonight will be easier if I don’t have to fight as much in-town traffic. The E250 averaged 48 miles per gallon on the drive down from Maine!

On the way to the hotel, I stopped at Hingham Lobster Pound for my usual shrimp & scallops. I took my fried friends to the Hingham Bathing Beach, where I was lucky enough to find a shaded picnic table.

I had thought about heading over to Wompatuck for a short hike, but since it’s in the upper 80s, I think I might take a nap, instead. I woke up at 4 this morning and had a hard time getting back to sleep. A short nap seems in order.
