Spearfish to Mankato

July 24, 2014 22:41 – 22:41

I’m at the Fairfield Inn in Mankato, where the internet speed (which costs $5 extra for “high” speed) is:

For dinner tonight, I decided to try Paglia’s Pizza. The salad was excellent… the pizza was so-so. The mozzarella cheese had a kind of plastic taste to it. There was no hint of other cheeses, so the pizza is a loser.

The trip here was mostly uneventful, if a little frustrating. I planned several stops, but because of the time change, doing more than one or two would’ve put me at the hotel well after 8. I decided that my one must stop was Badlands NP. As it turned out, there road work inside the entrance I chose, and a long line of cars waiting to get in. I gave up after about 20 minutes of sitting still in the 100 degree heat. Before taking off, I did manage to snap a couple of pictures of some of the Badlands, but not the best. Oh well… I’ve been there before.

As it turns out, the other prospective stops were too time-consuming, so I didn’t make them. This time-zone surfing is a pain. I’ll be glad when I’m back in EDT. Now… I gots some deciding to do about how long to make the rest of the trip, and which route to take.
