Home to Tulsa via Cookeville, TN and Tulsa, OK

October 8, 2014 09:16 – 09:16

I’m at the Comfort Suites East in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This is the first 2-story Comfort Suites I’ve ever stayed in. It has no elevator, so I opted for the ground floor. Fortunately, River Dance was not in the room above me. The internet speed here is abysmal, and the breakfast offering was awful. They have these half-moon eggloid that were overcooked and impossible to separate, and the only sign of accompanying breakfast meat are tiny bits of sausage integrated in some horribly carb-ridden concoction of potatoes and hot peppers. Ewww. I opted for some tiny tasteless blueberry muffins and an apple that was well past its prime.

The room is very much in need of updating, and the AC unit is ineffectual and noisy… a nice combination. My sound soother had a hard time drowning it out last night.

Note to self: Do not stay here again.

Night before last, however, I was at the Comfort Suites in Cookeville, TN. It was 1000% better. Fast internets (25/5… well, fast for Comfort), decent breakfast (microwaved eggs and sausage patties), and an updated room in good shape. The Cookeville location is a keeper.

I arose at 5:30 am to take a look at a very muddy “blood moon”. It was too cloudy to get a decent picture.

The “tastelessness” of the blueberry minimuffins might be partially organic. My taste apparatus is still very diminished following my summer virus. I suspect that I damaged my ability to taste by over-dosing on zinc. I guess some things are worse than bronchitis. I can tastes somewhat, but it’s still not back up to snuff. Unless there are dramatic improvements over the next two weeks, I guess I’ll seek medical advice.

Today… continuing west, where I’ll bunk down in Amarillo, TX. I’m definitely going home a more northerly route.
