Albuquerque Day 3

October 11, 2014 23:07 – 23:07

Today was a frustration sandwich. Frustration at the beginning & end, with a national wildlife refuge in the middle. I began by heading to the balloon grounds, hoping to see some balloons aloft. I saw exactly one balloon in the are. I ended the day by heading to the balloon grounds, hoping to see the balloon glow. I allowed two hours to get there. That wasn’t enough. When it became clear that I wasn’t going to get there by 5:45, I gave up. It might’ve been moot in any case, however, because more thunderstorms showed up.

So, the good part was the Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge. It’s set in the high desert. There were lots of wildflowers and lizards.

For dinner, I got carryout from Thai House. I had pad Thai with shrimp and pad see-eaw. It was okay, but not stellar.
